Google have stepped ahead by offering webcam support on its Google chat making it a more powerful communication tool for all webmasters. Now using your webcam you can directly talk to your friend or loved one as if you are talking to them face to face. You can use this new audio-voice facility offered by Gmail chat session easily, thus you can now have an actual audio conversation with anyone who is having webcam and headphone with their PC. To use this audio-video gmail chat, you will have to download and install a plugin located at : mail.google.com/videochat
you need to close all browser windows before you install this plug-in then sign in to your Gmail account. Once you are into your gmail account you need to select the contact name with whome you want to talk on video channel from your chat contact list. If your selected contact name have a camera icon next to their name then you can make a voice or video call; you just need to click Video & more and start chatting.
If your friend contact list member doesn’t have a camera next to their name in your chat list, you can invite them to get this new feature and ask them to download the Gmail voice and video chat plug-in from the Video & more menu in a chat window. Major advantage of this service is that even if your friend doesn’t have a video camera, you can still make a voice call or a 1-way video call.
