AMD vs Intel… Price War !!!!

Recently Intel had announced a price-cut for their  range of processor such as for Core 2 Quad, Core 2 Duo, dual-core Pentium, Celeron, and Xeon processor range. You can consider this price deduction as a reaction on the launch of Phenom processor II “Dragon” from AMD (Advanced Micro Devices).

Intel AMD processor Price cutIntel is basically targeting its quad-core processor family such as Q9650 (3.00GHz) that are down 40% to $ 316 from the original price of $ 530, the mobile Celeron processor 570 (2.00GHz) is down 48% from $ 134 to $ 70. Prices of Intel Xeon series processors have also been reduced significantly, at around 40%, such as the Xeon processor X3370 (3.00GHz), which you can get for $ 316 reduced from $530, even dual-core processors series of Pentium E5200juga have got price reduction of 24% from $ 84 to $ 64.

When the world is feeling heat of recession, Intel is trying to get more sales through this price downturn, also Intel has launched its newest series processor for Desktop users, such as desktop Core 2 Duo processor E7500 (2.93GHz), which is available for $ 133 and Core 2 Quad series Q9550s (2.83GHz). Main feature of these Desktop processor is the lower power consumption which would help you to cutdown electricity bills.

Microsoft trying to go with Yahoo’s search business

As a adverse effect of world economic recession Microsoft had recently layoff  5000 employees and had managed to save some extra expenditure, but still Steve Ballmer, CEO Microsoft is trying to get his arms around the Yahoo search business. His main goal is to invest in Internet search engines and to compete with Google. He is trying his level best to win the heart of Carol Bartz, Yahoo CEO and get this deal.

He said even though they just had 5000 job cuts but still planning to add few more thousand jobs in search engines division which they are targeting for getting better revenue.
Microsoft is also one of the major corporate which is being hit hard by the recession, thus the company is taking search engine marketing as a serious step in an effort to succeed in online search and advertising.
