AdMob is the mobile ad platform which is popular on the iPhones.
This a great step taken by Search engine Giant in mobile ad vertisement platform.   AdMob founder Omar Hamoui sent the following letter to their customers:
” Today we announced that AdMob has signed a definitive agreement to be acquired by Google for $750 million. We are extremely excited about this new partnership and what it means for our advertiser, developer and publisher partners. …. ”

We all know that “On web we have domain extension .de for Germany and .fr is for France, similarly we can have city specific generic domain names like .nyc to be for New York City” etc………. hence if such gTLD gets live on web there would be an revolution in domain name industry and would surely help local business owners. We can just imagine the benefit web business owners can have if such city specific domains extension gets into reality, If would are planning to offer local service then such domain extension would be a great help.

Connecting.nyc Inc. is a not-for profit organization founded to acquire and develop the .NYC TLD. It ask web users to sign a petition and this way to support the campaign. New York City based entity may win a battle decide to make NYC the world’s first city that has its own top-level domain. This would be .NYC web address. It should be opened for registration for U.S. national brands, New York businesses.
But unfortunately NewYork City is still exploring options for .nyc domain name. and ICCAN have not still approved their request.

Actually, both Microsoft & Intel are investigating on the power consumption related to hardware, CPU usage, resource hungry processes, BUS speed etc.  and are updating themselves thereby working on them from firmware as well as software level to improve.  Windows 7 OS is more advance operating system which is using a technology called ” timer coalescing “  which will minimize the time in which the processor enters a high-performance, full-power state. hence will reduce power consumption. Also Intel has made a dedicated chip for this called Westmere that is running in compatibility with Windows 7. It has hardware acceleration technique too that is significantly improving the encryption algorithm runtimes namely AES.  This has result in the ability to boot the operating system within 11 seconds.

The bottom line :- Intel and Microsoft are coming with a joint venture that will help batteries to last much longer. Its just a few days wait ( wait till end of October 2009 )  for getting this  dedicated Wintel machines which will have greater battery life and will operate for longer hours.

For some reason you want to password protect few folders which you may have on your hosting account. If you are using cpanel as your web hosting control panel then you can simply protect them using few clicks.

Follow the steps mention below :-
1. Login to your cpanel control panel
2. Click on “Password Protection” icon under Services section
3. Browse to the folder which you want to password protect.
4. Click on required folder name.
5. You will get a form which will have two parts and you have to submit then separately:

a) Allow access only to authorized users
[ ] Directory requires a password to access
Check the above box.
and Protected Resource Name:-  [ ] (enter a generic name of the protection such as “My Protected Folder”)
Submit and it will protect it.
Now step (b) for adding username/password :-  Browse to the same form and
b) Add/modify authorized user and enter the username/password and save it.
That’s all… you have successfully protected required directory from unauthorized access.
