You love Google and always use its free email/chat service for communicating, many times you need to provide some credential information such as password or credit card details to your fellow members or colleagues, but make sure all such information may be viewed by anyone on the internet, as once you login to your Gmail account then all communication would be carried out using HTTP and not over HTTPS, by default HTTPS is used only while you try to login to your account and henceforth all data communication is carries over plain text suing http which anyone can grab it. Now you have option for getting all such communication more securely using HTTPS protocol within Gmail, thus you can make Gmail communication go over secure HTTPS connections rather then plain HTTP.
