Secure Website from hackers !!!
Having up-to-date versions of all scripts you are using for your website will keep your website away from all bad hackers who are trying to target your websites. As a conscious webmaster you should always keep an eye on all latest released versions of available scripts and should update your website regularly. If you are using Wordpress or Joomla as CMS for your website then its always better to check installed versions for your website. Usually hackers search for websites who are still using very older versions of applications and once they found any such website they just get into your account and will take total control of it.
One more point to be noted about website security is about Passwords, you should never discuss your passwords with anyone, never use weak password which is easy to guess or the same password more than once; If someone finds your webmail password you’re pretty much guaranteed they’ll try it elsewhere – maybe in cPanel, maybe on your online banking! Hence you should take utmost care about choosing proper password, also don’t forget to Password Protect Your Admin Folder of any script you are using, if you are using cpanel hosting control panel as your webhosting control panel then you can easily protect such vital directories by clicking the Directory Protection link.
Well, think worst and if your website got hacked first step should be changing all passwords for cpanel, emails, site admin and all other….. Next step would be removing all old script installations try to install latest versions for them and get up-to-date website with latest plugins and their versions.
You should also check Error Logs within your cPanel for suspicious requests. Generally, a hacker leaves suspicious files around, so look for such files within your public_html folder.
once you manage to get the culprit file get all details about that file and ask your webhosting service provider to check it and then delete it.
If you don’t keep things up-to-date and secure, your site have greater chances for being getting hacked for which you will have to pay a good value or will have to face a lot. Thus as saying goes “ Prevention is better then cure “ now its the perfect time to stop such hacking attempts and tighten your website security.
