Stay in touch with Google Latitude.

Google recently announced its new services called as “ Latitude “ using which cellphone users will share their exact location with their friends. This can be consider as an advance service after Doggeball which was terminated recently.
You can consider Latitude as an add-on feature to Google Maps. It relies on Google Maps’ My Location feature, which uses the signals from nearby cellphone towers to plot a user’s location. Thus mobile version of “ Google Latitude “ can only be used on smartphones like Apple’s iPhone, Research in Motion’s BlackBerry and other devices running Microsoft’s Windows Mobile OS or are based on  Google’s own Android operating system. This meant that this service is not for normal mobile phones.

Latitude can also ties you with your computer using Google Maps through iGoogle, thus you can shared your location with your loved ones if you are connected to internet.
All Latitude users can also call, send text messages or chat with other online friends. Till the date Latitude mobile version service is available in 27 countries.
Total privacy of your current location can be maintain if you are using this service, you can allow all your friends, family members to get your exact location, or can hide your currnet location and can even cloak your location, if required. Thus you can stay in touch with your loved ones or can give your exact location to them, if you are out of town for some reason.
